Poor Mali

While I was coming home from Atlanta my husband, Scott, called and said my baby girl, Mali, had a nasty bo-bo on the top of her paw! He said it looks like she got bit by a spider. We have a lot of black widows around our the outside of our house and shed, so I was afraid she was bitten by one of those. Being the hypochondriac that I am, I freaked out, got my MIL's opinion, then called my mom, searched the internet for any info, and called the vet.

The next morning Scott called and said Mali's bo-bo had gone down a lot. She's still licking it like crazy and it's a raw bo-bo still.

I know dogs and babies aren't the same, but I can't imagine I'd have gotten more worried if it were my child!

Poor Mali!!

Summer's Almost Over =(

Well, the time has come. My summer is almost gone. Thursday I will have my first school meeting of the 06/07 school year. I spent the day at school finishing up my classroom and trying to figure out what the hell I'm going to do this year! I've never taught 7th or 8th grade english language arts! 8th grade is a very stressful grade to teach b/c of LEAP testing.
It was an eventful day at school though...the alarm was set off and the sheriff's station showed up. I was the only person on campus, so I got to walk around with them and investigate the premises! =)
Oh, and my husband got a raise today!!! I'm so proud of him!!! Go Scooty Booty!! =)

Elsie Flannigan

What is my new love, you might ask??? Elsie Flannigan. She has always had my favorite scrapbook style and I own her book (52 Scrapbooking Challenges), but she was a little too cutsie for me. But then I met her in person at CKU Atlanta...and fell in love!! She is the cutest thing ever! She seemed to be so shy, yet she still took pics and signed books and bags for hours! Smiling the whole while.
My group that I went to ATL with made fun of me the whole time we were there, saying she was my girlcrush! I have never been so excited to meet someone, and everytime I saw her I got all giddy!
My friend took her Ribbon Rehab class and told Elsie that she was my girlcrush!! I did get a cute little note from Elsie b/c of that! =)
I also learned that we have a lot of the same interests other than scrapbooking and ribbon....Moulin Rouge, Gwen Stefani, and I betcha she's even a Bjork fan! Maybe even a believer of faeries like me! =)
Anyway, I just wanted to profess my love for Elsie!
PS-she has a blog too www.elsieflannigan.blogspot.com ....check it out!

CKU-Album Atlanta 2006

Well, I just got back from 1 of the best trips of my life! I went to THE scrapbooking convention by Creating Keepsakes. It's AMAZING!! I've always had this idea that I was the youngest person under 40 who scrapbooked and they all dressed in "mom jeans" and applique vests. I was absolutely proven wrong! There were girls my age and younger who dressed like I would LOVE to dress...cute little pixie girls, freaks with piercings and colored hair, etc.
I went with my MIL (Debbie), Viv, Lynne, Tonya, and Judy. All 6 of us rode to ATL in a van chockerblocked with CRAP! We prayed the whole way we wouldn't bottom out!
We stayed up late every night creating new drinks like the Croptini, Dirty Nuts, Butt Nuts...And you don't know how funny it was to see my MIL banging on random hotel rooms at 1 in the morning, busting through the door, and crying from laughter!
It sucked coming home yesterday. We were all pouting that we had to go back to our real lives. And school starts soon.
I hope to have some pics up soon of our trip.
Oh, and here is a pic of me and Tim Holtz...he'd be so FAB to hang out with!
